War Cannon Spirits is a boutique distillery located in the Champlain Valley that produces exceptional small-batch spirits. Our innovative, often regional offerings are crafted for those who expect superior quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity in their bottles. Our spirits aim to raise awareness and educate on historical events, encourage the visitation, preservation, and restoration of historical sites, and inspire future stewards to continue this mission. This is how our original tagline was born: Revolutionary History, Rebellious Spirits.
A revolutionary tasting experience.
Our tasting room, Defiance Hall, is named after Mount Defiance, an 840-foot-high hill on which the British Army wheeled cannons to the top during the Siege of Fort Ticonderoga in 1777.
A restored landmark built in 1820.
Our building was used as a sawmill when a dammed creek formed a pond behind the site. Although many alterations have occurred over the last 200 years, the core remains one of the oldest structures of its kind, as referenced in ‘A Guide to Architecture in the Adirondacks.’
The historic Champlain Valley.
We are based amid the historic allure of two 18th-century British and French-built forts nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Champlain.
